OFC U-16 Women’s Championship: The Road to Morocco Begins!

The OFC U-16 Women’s Championship is set to begin tomorrow at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva, featuring eight teams from the Oceania region competing for two spots at the upcoming FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.

This championship is particularly significant due to the expansion of the World Cup to 24 teams and is organized into two groups.

Group A includes Fiji, Tonga, Cook Islands, and Samoa, while Group B consists of New Zealand, New Caledonia, Tahiti, and Solomon Islands.

The tournament will culminate in a thrilling conclusion, with the first-place teams from Group A facing off against the second-place teams from Group B, and vice versa, in the semi-finals scheduled for September 18.

Winners of these semi-final matches will not only qualify for the World Cup but will also compete for the OFC U-16 Women’s Championship title in the final on September 21.
