The organization of the OFC Men’s Champions League 2025 has transitioned to the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF). This decision comes in response to scheduling conflicts that prevented sufficient venue availability in Fiji. Key stadiums in Fiji, including Suva’s HFC Bank Stadium and Churchill Park in Lautoka, are occupied with matches for Fijian Drua.
The tournament is set to take place from March 29 to April 13, 2025, and will be hosted in Honiara, utilizing both the National Stadium and Lawson Tama Stadium for the matches. The draw to determine the competing teams will take place on December 11. This year, eight teams from across Oceania will vie for the championship, previously secured by Auckland City.
Fiji will be represented by Rewa, having earned their spot by winning the Digicel Premier League title this year.
This change to Solomon Islands as the host not only reflects the dynamic nature of sports organization but also highlights the expanding footprint of Pacific football. It presents an opportunity for local fans to engage with international competition and boosts the profile of Honiara as a sports destination. With Rewa’s participation, there is a hopeful anticipation for their performance, potentially paving the way for future successes in the region.
