Fijian Captain Roy Krishna’s late goal was insufficient for Odisha FC, as they fell to Chennaiyin FC in their opening match of the 2024-25 Indian Super League at Kalinga Stadium. Odisha FC initially took the lead with Diego Mauricio converting a penalty. However, in the second half, Chennaiyin equalized and quickly took a 2-1 lead with Farukh Choudhary netting two goals in just two minutes. Debutant Daniel Chima Chukwu further increased their advantage. Although Krishna managed to score in the final minute, it proved too late for Odisha FC. They will next face Punjab FC in their upcoming match.
