Odisha FC’s Heartbreaker: Late Goal Can’t Save Opening Match Defeat

Fijian Captain Roy Krishna’s late goal was insufficient for Odisha FC as they fell to Chennaiyin FC in their opening match of the 2024-25 Indian Super League at Kalinga Stadium.

Odisha FC initially took the lead with a penalty scored by Diego Mauricio. However, in the second half, Chennaiyin equalized and quickly surged ahead with Farukh Choudhary netting two goals in just two minutes.

Debutant Daniel Chima Chukwu further extended Chennaiyin’s advantage. Although Krishna managed to score a goal in the final moments of the match, it was too late to change the outcome.

Odisha FC is scheduled to face Punjab FC in their next match.
