Fijian Captain Roy Krishna’s late goal was insufficient for Odisha FC, as they lost their opening match of the 2024-25 Indian Super League to Chennaiyin FC at Kalinga Stadium yesterday.

Odisha FC initially took the lead with Diego Mauricio converting a penalty.

In the second half, Chennaiyin equalized and quickly took a 2-1 lead within two minutes, thanks to Farukh Choudhary’s brace.

Debutant Daniel Chima Chukwu then added to their advantage.

Krishna managed to score in the final moments of the game, but it was too late to change the outcome.

Odisha FC’s next match will be against Punjab FC.
