Fijian captain Roy Krishna scored as Odisha FC secured a 2-1 victory against East Bengal FC at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar last night, marking their second win in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 season. Krishna and Mourtada Fall both found the net, while East Bengal’s Dimitrios Diamantakos scored a penalty in added time of the first half.
This defeat marks East Bengal FC’s sixth straight loss this season and their second consecutive under new coach Oscar Bruzon.
The tone for the match was set by Krishna in the 22nd minute, registering his fourth goal against East Bengal in the competition. Young talent Isak Vanlalruatfela initiated a well-placed through ball for Krishna, who skillfully navigated past East Bengal’s defense, collected the ball, and converted it past goalkeeper Prabhsukhan Singh Gill into the bottom right corner.
Odisha FC’s next fixture is against Mumbai City FC on October 27, while East Bengal FC will face Mohammedan SC in the Kolkata Derby on November 9.
