Odisha FC Triumphs Over East Bengal as Krishna Shines Again!

Fijian captain Roy Krishna made a significant contribution as Odisha FC defeated East Bengal FC 2-1 at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar last night, marking their second victory in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 season.

Krishna and Mourtada Fall both scored in the match, overcoming a penalty goal by East Bengal FC’s Dimitrios Diamantakos, which was scored in stoppage time of the first half.

This defeat marked East Bengal’s sixth consecutive loss this season and second straight under their newly appointed head coach, Oscar Bruzon.

Krishna opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, netting his fourth goal in the competition against East Bengal FC. The play was set up by young talent Isak Vanlalruatfela, who delivered a long through ball, allowing Krishna to break through the defense. He skillfully managed a one-on-one situation with goalkeeper Prabhsukhan Singh Gill, placing the ball in the bottom right corner of the net.

Odisha FC will face Mumbai City FC on October 27, while East Bengal FC will compete in the Kolkata Derby against Mohammedan SC on November 9.
