Odisha FC Triumphs: Krishna Shines in 2-1 Victory Over East Bengal

Fijian captain Roy Krishna scored one goal as Odisha FC defeated East Bengal FC 2-1 at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, marking their second win of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 season. Krishna and Mourtada Fall each found the net, countering a penalty goal by East Bengal FC striker Dimitrios Diamantakos, who scored in injury time of the first half.

This defeat extends East Bengal’s losing streak to six games this season, including two under new head coach Oscar Bruzon.

The match saw Krishna open the scoring in the 22nd minute, marking his fourth goal against East Bengal FC in ISL history. Young talent Isak Vanlalruatfela assisted Krishna with a well-placed delivery from the left flank, allowing Krishna to capitalize on the opportunity. He skillfully maneuvered past East Bengal’s goalkeeper Prabhsukhan Singh Gill, finishing with a shot into the bottom right corner.

Looking ahead, Odisha FC will face Mumbai City FC on October 27, while East Bengal FC will return to the field for the Kolkata Derby against Mohammedan SC on November 9.
