Odisha FC Stumbles in Thrilling Opening Match Against Chennaiyin FC

Fijian Captain Roy Krishna’s late goal could not save Odisha FC from defeat in their opening match of the 2024-25 Indian Super League against Chennaiyin FC at Kalinga Stadium yesterday.

Odisha FC initially took the lead with a penalty converted by Diego Mauricio. However, in the second half, Chennaiyin equalized and swiftly moved ahead 2-1 in just two minutes, thanks to a brace from Farukh Choudhary.

Debutant Daniel Chima Chukwu further extended Chennaiyin’s lead. Although Krishna managed to pull one back in the final minute, it was too late to impact the result.

Odisha FC is set to face Punjab FC in their upcoming match.
