Fijian captain Roy Krishna scored a late goal, but it was not enough to secure a victory for Odisha FC, who lost their opening match of the 2024-25 Indian Super League to Chennaiyin FC at Kalinga Stadium. Odisha FC initially took the lead with a penalty goal from Diego Mauricio. However, in the second half, Chennaiyin equalized and quickly took a 2-1 advantage within two minutes, thanks to a brace from Farukh Choudhary. Debutant Daniel Chima Chukwu then increased Chennaiyin’s lead. Although Krishna managed to score in the final minute, it was too late for Odisha FC. The team is set to face Punjab FC in their next match.
