Fijian Captain Roy Krishna’s late goal was insufficient for Odisha FC, who dropped their opening match of the 2024-25 Indian Super League against Chennaiyin FC at Kalinga Stadium yesterday. Odisha FC initially took the lead when Diego Mauricio converted a penalty kick. In the second half, Chennaiyin equalized and then quickly surged ahead with two goals from Farukh Choudhary within two minutes. Debutant Daniel Chima Chukwu further extended their lead. Although Krishna managed to score in the final moments, it was too late to alter the outcome. Odisha FC’s next match will be against Punjab FC.
