Oceania Rugby’s Game-Changer: High-Performance Camp for Match Officials!

Oceania Rugby has announced the inaugural Match Official High-Performance Camp in Nadi, a significant milestone for World Rugby. This event will bring together match officials from across the Oceania region to improve their skills, exchange knowledge, and raise officiating standards in rugby.

Richard Sapias, President of Oceania Rugby, noted that the camp offers a unique opportunity for officials to participate in extensive training sessions, workshops, and discussions facilitated by seasoned referees and educators from World Rugby.

Participants from both Oceania and international regions will have the chance to refine their officiating techniques, learn about the latest advancements in match management, and build camaraderie with fellow officials.

Sapias emphasized that this initiative offers international exposure and collaboration beyond the region, including countries like the USA, Japan, and Canada, and represents a first in being completely integrated with World Rugby’s talent identification pathways.

He added that this groundbreaking event will not only enhance officiating standards but also create pathways for aspiring referees in the future.
