Oceania Rugby Revolutionizes Officiating with New High-Performance Camp

Oceania Rugby has officially launched its inaugural Match Official High-Performance Camp in Nadi, which marks a significant development for World Rugby.

This event brings together match officials from throughout the Oceania region, aiming to enhance their skills, share expertise, and improve the standards of officiating in rugby.

Richard Sapias, the President of Oceania Rugby, emphasized that the camp offers a unique platform for officials to participate in extensive training sessions, workshops, and discussions led by seasoned referees and educators from World Rugby.

Participants from Oceania and other regions, including the USA, Japan, and Canada, will have the opportunity to refine their techniques, learn about the latest advancements in officiating, and build camaraderie among their peers.

Sapias highlighted that this initiative not only enhances officiating standards but also opens up pathways for emerging referees, integrating fully with World Rugby’s talent identification pathways.
