The All Blacks 7s team will participate in the Vancouver 7s tournament in Canada this weekend, but they will do so without their head coach, Tomasi Cama Jnr. A statement from New Zealand Rugby has clarified that a processing delay resulted in the late approval of Cama’s visa, preventing him from traveling with the team.

In his absence, assistant coach Willie Rickards will take over as head coach for the upcoming North American tournaments. He will be joined by Scott Curry, a former teammate and All Blacks Sevens captain, as his assistant. Curry, who retired from professional rugby in 2024 after a distinguished 14-year career, was appointed captain of the All Blacks Sevens in 2015 following DJ Forbes.

Currently, New Zealand is positioned third on the SVNS Series table, making this tournament critical for their standings. The Vancouver 7s event will take place over Sunday and Monday, offering fans the chance to watch all Fiji 7s and Fijiana games live on FBC TV.

The Fiji Airways Men’s 7s team will kick off their campaign on Sunday, facing France at 7:19 AM, followed by matches against Argentina at 11:07 AM and Australia at 2:56 PM. Meanwhile, the Fijiana team will also be in action, starting against Australia at 9:31 AM, followed by a match against the USA at 12:57 PM, and concluding their pool games against Canada at 4:46 PM on Sunday.

This weekend’s Vancouver 7s promises to be an exciting showcase of rugby talent, with teams competing fervently for a strong position in the series. Fans across the world will be eager to tune in and support their teams as they strive for success on this international stage.
