Around 2,000 students from the Nadi district participated in the Ministry of Education Careers Expo on Thursday, hosted at Fulton Adventist College in Sabeto. This expo provided an important opportunity for students to explore various career pathways and educational opportunities available to them.

The event showcased 44 exhibitors, including notable institutions such as the University of Fiji, Fiji National University, Fiji Airports, and the Fiji Police Force among others. These organizations aimed to assist students in shaping their career pathways and to provide valuable information about tertiary institutions.

The expo served as a vital platform for students to engage with representatives from multiple fields, enabling them to learn about diverse career prospects that can shape their futures. Similar initiatives have taken place across the country, highlighting the Ministry of Education’s commitment to connecting students with career and academic opportunities.

In previous expos, like the in-house careers exposition at Marist Brothers High School, students gathered insights about job possibilities directly from representatives of various sectors, which further supports the trend of providing youth with practical exposure to the job market.

Such events are not only beneficial for students in urban areas like Nadi but also crucial for those in isolated regions, as seen in the recent careers expo held on Moala Island. These initiatives underscore the importance of broadening educational horizons and preparing the younger generation to navigate their futures responsibly.

This year’s expo reinforces the significance of educational reform that aligns closely with real-world demands and prepares students effectively for their careers, inspiring them to pursue their goals with clarity and confidence.
