The 47th Meeting of National Representatives of the Regional Cooperative Agreement for Research, Development and Training Related to Nuclear Science and Technology for Asia and the Pacific (RCA) is set to kick off in Nadi tomorrow. This significant gathering, coordinated by Fiji’s Ministries of Agriculture and Waterways along with the Foreign Affairs Ministry, will witness participation from over 50 delegates representing 22 RCA Government Parties over the course of four days.
The meeting aims to strengthen collaboration among member states, address shared challenges, and formulate strategies to enhance the efficacy and relevance of RCA initiatives throughout the region. Actively participating in this event will be Dr. Andrew Tukana, the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Waterways, alongside Deng Ge, the International Atomic Energy Agency’s director for Technical Cooperation in the Asia Pacific Division.
The assembly will include countries such as Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and others from across the Asia-Pacific, including Bangladesh, China, India, and Vietnam. This collaboration underscores the commitment of these nations to advance nuclear science and technology, highlighting its importance in areas like agriculture and environmental sustainability.
