Weather Alert Extravaganza!
Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at 3:30 PM on Thursday, November 20th, 2025.
Hold onto your umbrellas because a HEAVY RAIN ALERT is now in effect for the eastern half of Viti Levu! This includes the Serua-Namosi, Navua, Suva, Nausori, Tailevu, Naitasiri, Ra areas, along with Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, and those charming nearby small islands – they definitely didn’t want to be left out! Oh, and let’s not forget the Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu, and more petite neighbors. Make sure to check out the Special Weather Bulletin for details, unless you prefer a surprise!
Now, about wind… we have a STRONG WIND WARNING too! That’s right, folks. If you’re on land in the Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu, and Taveuni, make sure your hat is secure, because winds up to 45 km/hr are coming your way!
So, what’s happening? A nice, moist easterly wind flow is putting the “sea” in “C” for the country, while an active trough of low pressure decided to crash the party in the eastern parts of Fiji starting this Saturday.
Here’s what tomorrow looks like for the Fiji group: Expect cloudy skies and scattered showers (yes, it’s like a wet blanket party) with localized heavy downpours over various areas. Flash flooding might try to make an entrance in low-lying spaces, so keep your boots handy! Elsewhere, things will be fine with just a sprinkle of afternoon or evening showers and a few thunderstorms over Viti Levu and Vanua Levu.
Wind-wise, expect moderate to fresh southeasterly breezes, but then brace yourselves for strong gusts to swoop in at 45 km/hr from tomorrow in the mentioned areas. And the seas? Moderate to rough—they’re no place for the faint-hearted!
Saturday’s sneak peek reveals more strong southeast winds and the same rain & thunder drumroll as we had on Friday. So keep those umbrellas at the ready!
Now for the individual outlooks:
