Marica Waqaniburotu has a strong commitment to service. The recent graduate with a Bachelor of Science from Fiji National University has been actively involved in hospital activities only two days into her placement, which is part of her academic program aimed at providing practical experience in a healthcare environment.
Following her recent achievement, Waqaniburotu’s dedication now goes beyond her responsibilities at the hospital. She aims to promote the beauty and potential of Fiji’s Northern Division. “The Northern Division has so much to offer in terms of natural beauty and cultural heritage,” she noted.
One of her key objectives is to collaborate with local municipal leaders to develop and implement strategies that enhance opportunities in the North. She emphasizes the importance of establishing a new port, stating that it would improve logistical connections and draw more tourists to the area. This, she believes, would lead to job creation and positively impact the local economy.
