Several roads in the Northern Division are currently closed due to flooding, and authorities are urging motorists to exercise extreme caution while traveling. The heavy rainfall has led to significant flooding, rendering some routes impassable.

Affected roads include the Boubale Crossing on Qawa Road, Konasami Low Level Crossing on Dreketilailai Road, and Zailav Low Level Crossing on Zailav Road in Seaqaqa, which are closed due to rising water levels and the risk of washouts.

Fortunately, certain roads remain accessible, including the Narailagi Low Level Crossing on Narailagi Road in Seaqaqa, which is open but only for 4×4 vehicles. Additionally, Nakorotari Crossing and Wailevu Tiri Road in Labasa are also open to 4×4 vehicles.

Motorists are advised to stay alert, as conditions can change quickly, and debris and washouts may still present hazards on all roadways.

This situation serves as a reminder of the unpredictability of weather and its impact on infrastructure. Staying informed and prioritizing safety is crucial during such emergencies. Authorities’ proactive communication highlights their commitment to keeping the community safe.

As the region navigates through these challenges, the hope is for clear skies and improved road conditions in the near future.
