The Labasa football club North-pole has returned home with a prize of $4,000 after their impressive victory in the 2024 Cecil’s National Club Championship (NCCC). They triumphed over Buiduna with a final score of 6-3 at the Fiji Football Association grounds.
The match began with a fierce competition, leading to a 2-2 draw at halftime. However, in the second half, North-pole gained an advantage when Melvin Mani scored in the 55th minute, followed by Christopher Wasasala’s second goal just six minutes later. Additionally, Eparama Moraica and Mo-hammed Arbaz contributed two more goals to solidify their win.
Despite their defeat, Buiduna club marked a significant achievement by reaching their first NCCC final. They began their journey with a 2-1 win against Rewa’s Nakasi Police, followed by a close 1-0 victory over Lautoka’s Rivals, and secured their final spot through a draw against Nadroga’s Downtown. For their efforts, Buiduna took home $1,000.
This championship not only highlights North-pole’s skill and determination but also celebrates Buiduna’s historic achievement, showcasing the competitive spirit and potential of both clubs in Fijian football.
