No tolerance for unruly behavior at Fiji rugby quarter-finals!

The Director Traffic, Senior Superintendent of Police Mitieli Divuana, has issued a stern warning to students and schools regarding unruly behavior at the upcoming Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Union Vodafone Deans quarter-finals. SSP Divuana emphasized that police will take a hard stance against any misconduct at the event.

He stated that traffic officers will be vigilant and may confiscate items like flags if they are being used dangerously from moving vehicles. “Traffic officers will be more visible along the Queens Highway, major roads, and in the capital city,” SSP Divuana noted.

He reminded that flags are forbidden from being displayed outside bus or car windows, urging parents, teachers, and guardians to closely monitor the conduct of children. Furthermore, drivers are encouraged to plan their journeys in advance to avoid rushing.

The police are seeking cooperation from all attendees to prevent significant incidents on the roads. The Raluve quarter-finals are taking place today at the HFC Bank Stadium in Laucala, Suva, followed by the Super Deans quarter-finals scheduled for tomorrow. There have been concerns in the past about student behavior during and after the matches, and the Fiji Police Force is prepared to take action against any violations of the law.
