Opposition MP Viliame Naupoto has resigned from his position as the Opposition Whip, effective today.
Notifying the Speaker this morning, the Leader of Opposition Inia Seruiratu stated this decision was necessary.
When approached by the media outside Parliament, Naupoto remarked that stepping down was the fair thing to do.
In the interim, Jone Usamate will serve as the Opposition Whip until a permanent appointment is made.
