Nightclub operators emphasize the importance of trained security personnel in maintaining order and ensuring patron safety during the festive season. Albert Chand, owner of Deep Sea Union Tavern, highlighted that security officers play a crucial role in monitoring behavior and providing assistance before any issues escalate.
Chand explained that when patrons have had too much to drink, security staff escort them outside to help them regain composure rather than simply ejecting them from the premises. This approach allows patrons to get some fresh air or wash their faces before making a decision to go home, ensuring a more considerate and safe environment.
He also noted that security officers extend their protective measures beyond the nightclub’s walls, helping to mitigate risks as patrons leave the venue. “When they go out into the public and then move forward or go to black markets and all kinds of things, we have no control of that,” Chand stated, expressing gratitude for the local police presence that contributes to the overall safety of the early morning streets.
Chand is diligent in maintaining high standards of care, reviewing security footage daily to monitor operations and ensure the well-being of patrons. “We have security cameras that monitor all these things, which I review every next day,” he shared.
The police also expressed their commitment to keeping the nightlife safe, reinforcing that ongoing patrol support plays a vital role in safeguarding the bustling night scene for everyone. The collaborative efforts of security personnel and law enforcement reflect a community-centered approach to nightlife safety, fostering an environment where both patrons and operators can feel secure.
