A violent altercation at a nightclub over the weekend left six individuals hospitalized, including a bouncer who sustained serious injuries. The incident unfolded after hours when a group of intoxicated patrons attempted to gain entry into the venue.

Witnesses reported that the confrontation erupted around 1 am after two people were removed from a nearby nightclub. The situation escalated rapidly, catching the bouncers off guard. According to a staff member, the individuals initially exhibited reckless behavior, including climbing tables and attempting to reach the ceiling fans of the neighboring club. When denied entry into the nightclub, the group became aggressive, verbally abusing the bouncers.

After leaving the venue, the two individuals returned with four accomplices, once again demanding access. When the bouncers refused, the conflict intensified. One bouncer was punched, and as more staff intervened, the situation spiraled out of control due to the overwhelming number of attackers. Tragically, one bouncer suffered a dislocated jaw and remains hospitalized.

Currently, three people are receiving treatment at Sigatoka Hospital and are in stable condition, while two remain unconscious. Another individual is reportedly stable at CWM Hospital. Concerns were raised about the lack of police presence during the incident, as witnesses stated there were no officers available to assist in managing the crowd or the fight.

Assistant Commissioner of Police, Livai Driu, confirmed that investigators are conducting interviews with staff members who were present that night. In a positive turn of events, the police were able to transport the injured individuals to the hospital promptly.

This incident highlights the challenges surrounding nightlife safety and the importance of maintaining adequate security measures in public venues. The cooperation between the police and nightclub staff in investigating the situation is crucial to preventing future incidents and ensuring the safety of patrons and employees alike.
