An investigation has been launched into a violent altercation that took place outside a nightclub in Suva. The incident was captured on video and has since been circulated widely on social media platforms.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACPO) Livai Driu confirmed that he has been updated on the situation and that a dedicated team from the Central Division is currently gathering information from those involved in the brawl. “This process is ongoing, and we will begin by interviewing the staff members who were on duty at nearby nightclubs during the incident,” ACP Driu stated.
He also reported that police officers were present at the scene and provided assistance by transporting individuals who sustained injuries to the hospital. ACP Driu indicated that several people are expected to be brought in for questioning in connection with the incident today.
While incidents of violence can be concerning, the swift action by law enforcement highlights their commitment to maintaining public safety and addressing such issues proactively. The investigation aims not only to hold those responsible accountable but also to encourage a safer environment for nightlife in the local community.
