A violent altercation outside a well-known nightclub in Suva has resulted in six individuals being hospitalized, with two of them currently remaining unconscious. Authorities have reported that these individuals are receiving care at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital in Suva, where a third person is also being treated and is in stable condition.
In addition, three other individuals were taken to Sigatoka Hospital, and they are also reported to be stable. Preliminary reports suggest that some of those involved in the incident were members of a Rugby League club in Sigatoka, which had held its awards night in Suva the previous day.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, has assured the community that the police are actively pursuing the case and are in the process of identifying and apprehending those involved in the brawl.
This incident highlights the need for greater community engagement and preventive measures in nightlife safety, as well as the importance of responsible behavior during celebratory events. Ensuring safety in public spaces continues to be a priority for law enforcement as they work towards preventing such occurrences in the future.
