A nightclub bouncer involved in a recent brawl in Suva early yesterday morning has been taken into police custody. Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACPO) Livai Driu confirmed that authorities are in the process of identifying and apprehending additional individuals linked to the incident.

Driu emphasized the importance of allowing law enforcement to manage the situation, urging the public not to take matters into their own hands. He stated, “All those making threats on social media need to stay calm. Emotions are still high at the moment, and we call on all parties involved to remain composed. Taking matters into your own hands won’t resolve anything; it will only escalate the situation.”

A team of officers from the Totogo Police Station is currently in Namatakula Village to gather statements from those involved and witnesses. ACPO Driu urged cooperation, asking individuals to provide details and evidence to assist with the police investigation and to practice patience as the process unfolds.

Furthermore, the police are monitoring social media activity to prevent any harmful actions from escalating. Driu reassured the public that the police will be present to ensure community safety, especially as the New Year approaches.

This situation serves as a reminder of the importance of community cooperation with law enforcement. Public patience and calmness are crucial in maintaining peace during emotionally charged incidents.

In summary, the police are actively investigating a nightclub brawl and have urged the public to remain calm while allowing officials to do their job. The focus remains on ensuring safety and preventing further escalation as the situation develops.
