Ni Vanuatu Boxers Arrive for Thrilling Fight Event

Vanuatu boxers Roy Ser and Wasing Warawara are set to arrive in the country next Wednesday.

South Pacific Boxing Promotions promoter Fred Chand announced that the boxers will catch a connecting flight to Labasa for next Saturday’s promotion on August 10.

“The boxers wanted to get to Labasa quickly so they could acclimatize to the weather conditions,” Chand explained.

In the main event, Ser will face Fiji’s super welterweight and IBO Asia Pacific title holder, Winston Hill. The 10-round bout promises to be thrilling, given both fighters’ extensive amateur boxing backgrounds prior to going professional.

Hill secured a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham, England, while Ser won gold at the 2017 Pacific Mini Games in Port Vila. Ser trained in China and has notable knockout victories against Rakuro Dauvavana and Saimoni Ratu.

Warawara is set to fight in a supporting bout against upcoming Frederick Chand from Nadi’s Seaside Boxing Club. The official weigh-in for the promotion is scheduled for next Friday in Labasa.
