The Natabua High School Under-18 girls rugby team aims to enhance their discipline and fundamental skills as they prepare for the Weet-Bix Raluve Trophy semi-final next week. Head coach Inoke Vucago shared this outlook following their impressive 41-0 victory against Nasinu Secondary School on Friday.

Vucago reflected on last year’s quarterfinal loss, stating that the team is determined to advance further this time. “It’s one game at a time for the players, and they have prepared well,” he said, noting their halftime strategy to increase their lead from 17-0.

Many of the players have experience from competing in the Marama Championship with Nadi, Yasawa, and Lautoka’s under-20 clubs, which Vucago highlighted as beneficial as they adapt to 40-minute rugby matches.

He expressed pride in his players for diligently executing 80 percent of their game plan and showing a strong desire to win. Vucago dedicated the victory to the parents, teachers, and students of NHS, emphasizing the combined strength of their forwards and a formidable backline that contributes to a well-rounded team.
