The National Fire Authority (NFA) has recently declared a 20 percent pay increase for its operational staff. This raise is notable as it is the first adjustment to wages since 2017.

Minister for Local Government, Maciu Nalumisa, emphasized the significance of this increase in acknowledging and supporting the essential work carried out by NFA personnel. He stated that the initiative aims to recognize the dedication and contribution of the employees to the authority’s operational goals.

“NFA is committed to staff empowerment, providing technical training, and fostering development for our firefighters,” Mr. Nalumisa noted. He also mentioned that the NFA is forming strategic partnerships to enhance service delivery, facilitate knowledge sharing, and improve technical expertise.
