The National Fire Authority (NFA) has recently announced a 20 percent increase in wages and salaries for its operations staff. This raise is significant as it is the first increase since 2017.

Minister for Local Government, Maciu Nalumisa, emphasized the importance of this adjustment in acknowledging and supporting the vital work performed by NFA employees. He stated that the initiative aims to reward the hard work of the authority and its staff, recognizing their dedication and commitment to the operational plan.

Nalumisa noted that the government is focused on empowering staff, providing technical training, and developing skills for firefighters. He also mentioned that the NFA is forming strategic alliances to enhance service delivery, facilitate knowledge sharing, and improve technical expertise.
