The National Fire Authority (NFA) has announced a 20 percent wage increase for its operational staff, marking the first pay raise since 2017. Minister for Local Government, Maciu Nalumisa, emphasized the significance of this adjustment in acknowledging the vital contributions of NFA employees.

Nalumisa explained that the decision aims to reward the hard work of the authority and its staff while supporting its operational plans. He mentioned that the government is committed to empowering staff through technical training and development for firefighters. Additionally, NFA is forming strategic alliances to enhance service delivery, knowledge sharing, and technical expertise.
