The National Fire Authority (NFA) has announced a 20 percent wage increase for its operational staff, marking the first salary boost since 2017. Minister for Local Government, Maciu Nalumisa, emphasized the significance of this increase in acknowledging the essential contributions of NFA employees.

Nalumisa stated that the pay raise reflects the government’s commitment to recognize the dedication of the authority and its staff, rewarding their ongoing commitment to the NFA’s operational objectives. He added that the government is prioritizing staff empowerment through technical training and development programs for firefighters.

Furthermore, Nalumisa mentioned that the NFA is forming strategic partnerships aimed at enhancing service delivery, facilitating knowledge exchange, and promoting technical excellence.
