New Zealand Teams Up with Fiji for HOTEC’s Premium Showcase

New Zealand companies participating in the upcoming 2024 Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association’s HOTEC Trade Show have been selected for their dedication to providing high-quality products and services in collaboration with Fijian suppliers. The featured companies include Green Meadows Beef, Pals, Mercer Mushrooms, the NZ Avocado collective, and Magic Memories, all set to present their offerings at the New Zealand “Made with Care” pavilion.

Speaking at a reception in Suva prior to the expo in Denarau, New Zealand Trade Commissioner to the Pacific David Dewar highlighted the commitment of these companies to work alongside Fiji’s tourism sector. Dewar praised Fiji’s tourism industry as world-class and noted its remarkable recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, which has helped position the country as a preferred destination for travelers from Australia, New Zealand, and beyond.

He emphasized that tourists are drawn to Fiji not only for its natural beauty but also for its people. Dewar acknowledged the warm welcome and hospitality that visitors experience, attributing the tourism industry’s success to the efforts of the Fijian population.

Dewar pointed out that premium travelers increasingly seek high-quality products to complement their experience, underlining the importance of reliability in the supply chain as the tourism sector continues to develop. He expressed the aim of the “Made With Care” campaign, which is anchored in three foundational values: “Kaitiakitanga” (care for people, place, and planet), “Manaakitanga” (care for others with kindness and respect), and “Ingenuity” (challenging the status quo with innovative solutions).

He concluded by expressing pride in showcasing four outstanding New Zealand companies at HOTEC, which exemplify these values. New Zealand has strongly supported the event, with New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) serving as the gold sponsor for the two-day expo.
