During the recent New Year’s celebration, the public was urged to arrange their own transportation, according to Assistant Commissioner of Police (Operations) Livai Driu. As festivities concluded at Albert Park and various nightclubs at 1 a.m., there was no bus service available, leading to challenges for those seeking a way home.

Despite the busy atmosphere, police were on hand to ensure the safety of attendees. Driu noted, “The only challenge we had was transportation,” highlighting the importance of making prior arrangements. He reported that while many revelers enjoyed the celebrations, there were also several arrests related to public disorder and drunk driving, particularly during the late-night hours around the country.

The Assistant Commissioner reminded the public about the risks associated with excessive drinking, advising individuals to be mindful of their limits and to act responsibly.

In summary, while the New Year’s celebration was a lively occasion, the need for self-arranged transportation presented a logistical challenge for many attendees, emphasizing the importance of planning ahead for future events. This encourages a culture of responsibility among partygoers, ensuring that celebrations can be enjoyed safely.
