Lydiane Mucunabitu joyfully welcomed her daughter, Charlotte Mucunabitu, into the world on January 1 at 12:34 AM, making her the first baby of the year born at Lautoka Hospital. Baby Charlotte weighed in at a healthy 3.65 kilograms, bringing immense joy to her mother.
Ms. Mucunabitu shared her experience leading up to the birth, noting that she was discharged from the hospital on New Year’s Eve. After a period of rest at home, she experienced intense contractions that necessitated her immediate return to the hospital. Ultimately, a caesarean section was performed to safely deliver baby Charlotte.
Reflecting on the delivery, Ms. Mucunabitu praised the medical team, especially the doctors, and described feeling awake throughout the C-section, recognizing the pressure of the process even if she couldn’t see the procedure.
