“This was a surprise; we were not expecting him until January 11, but I thank God for this healthy gift,” she stated, marking the occasion as a moment to treasure forever.
In Nadi, Akeneta Ranadi also celebrated the new year with the birth of her daughter, who weighed 3.78 kilograms. With a due date set for January 8, Ms. Ranadi described the experience as a blessing. “This is the first blessing of the year, and I’m hopeful for more blessings in the months ahead,” she said. Meanwhile, on Kia Island in the northern part of Fiji, Senimili Duavokavoka welcomed her son, Suliasi Vunibola Turaganivalu, at 2 AM after being rushed to Labasa Hospital on New Year’s Eve. Weighing in at 3.7 kilograms, she referred to her child as the perfect gift that completes her family. “When I heard his first cry, I felt relief and joy,” she reflected. Her husband, Seresio Turaganivalau, expressed pride in becoming a father.
