The New Vision 21 volleyball team from Vatuwaqa is gearing up to make a significant impact in this year’s Suva Volleyball Association club competition. Formed just this year, the team is focused on empowering local youth, building upon their talents, and providing a positive path away from issues like drug abuse.

Under the mentorship of head coach Matayasi Suka, the team has shown remarkable dedication and potential, despite many players being new to the sport. Suka has praised their commitment, noting that even though they secured victories in their first two matches by default due to opponents not showing up, their enthusiasm for volleyball remains strong.

The coach’s motivation for creating the team was also rooted in a desire to offer young people constructive activities that could lead them toward healthier, more productive futures. “These boys have shown great potential, and it’s exciting to witness their journey in volleyball,” Suka remarked, acknowledging the competitive challenges ahead but expressing confidence in their gradual improvement.

He also commended the Suva Volleyball Association for their support, which has been invaluable in helping the players grow both physically and mentally as they navigate the competition.

This initiative not only showcases the passion for volleyball but also highlights the broader aim of nurturing youth in the community. With dedication and a focus on development, the New Vision 21 team embodies the spirit of perseverance and hope for a brighter future.

In summary, the New Vision 21 volleyball team’s establishment is a promising step toward community engagement and youth empowerment, showcasing their commitment to sport and personal growth. Their journey reflects a hopeful narrative where sports serve as a vital tool for positive change.
