A new champion will be determined in this year’s Vodafone Cup after the defending titleholders, Saru Dragons, were knocked out in the semi-finals.

Navy Albatross stunned the Saru Dragons with a 27-18 victory in the final quarter-final match held at Lawaqa Park over the weekend.

In other quarter-final matches, Vusu Raiders claimed a 30-20 win over Topline Warriors, Waitaci Titans edged past Nadera Panthers with a score of 32-28, and Ravoravo Rabbitohs defeated Laselase Cowboys 24-18.

Solomoni Tuqiri, the team manager for Vusu Raiders, expressed that the semi-final phase will present new challenges. “The semi-final stage is different, and we will go back and regroup to come back stronger in the semi-final against Ravoravo Rabbitohs,” Tuqiri stated.

This week’s semi-final matchups will see Vusu Raiders go head-to-head with Ravoravo Rabbitohs, while Navy Albatross will take on Waitaci Titans in the other semi-final.
