The iTaukei Land Trust Board (TLTB) has recently inaugurated a new office in Vunidawa, Naitasiri, enhancing its support for the iTaukei community. CEO Solomone Nata announced that the office will initially operate once a week, with the possibility of increasing open days depending on the demand from local landowners.
Currently, TLTB manages a total of 1,023 leases, encompassing an area of 31,887.92 hectares, predominantly utilized for agricultural endeavors. This activity has resulted in approximately $980,000 in annual rental income. Notably, the board has significantly increased its financial support to landowners this year, distributing $2.6 million compared to $1.7 million last year.
The opening of this new office represents an important advancement in TLTB’s ongoing efforts to provide more accessible and efficient services to the iTaukei people, empowering them and fostering community development.
