The iTaukei Land Trust Board (TLTB) has inaugurated its third service centre in Dada, Namosi, with the aim of delivering land services directly to rural communities. The centre was opened by Ratu Suliano Matanitobua, the Turaga na Tui Namosi, marking a significant step in bringing essential land services closer to the local population.

This new facility will provide support to the five tikina of Wainikoroiluva, Naqarawai, Veinuqa, Namosi, and Veivatuloa, encompassing 72 mataqali across 28 villages and an extensive area of over 77,000 hectares of native land. It is initially set to operate two days every fortnight, with plans to expand services based on community needs and demand.

Solomone Nata, TLTB Chief Executive, stated that the establishment of this centre underlines the Board’s commitment to decentralizing operations and assisting rural landowners. He highlighted that only 16 percent of land in Namosi is currently under lease, and this centre will play a pivotal role in facilitating land use planning, fostering development projects, and increasing awareness about programs like the iTaukei Development Fund.

The newly opened centre is part of TLTB’s broader strategy to enhance its service delivery, which includes operating multiple regional and sub-regional offices across the country. Previous openings, such as the recent office in Vunidawa, Naitasiri, reflect TLTB’s ongoing efforts to support the iTaukei community and improve access to essential services, further empowering local landowners.

This initiative conveys a positive message of progress, emphasizing the importance of empowering rural communities by bringing essential resources and information to their doorstep. By fostering development and increasing awareness of available support programs, TLTB is paving the way for enhanced economic opportunities and a more engaged community.
