Tudravu to officially begin tomorrow

New Police Commissioner Set for Busy First Day in Fiji

Rusiate Tudravu is set to officially assume the role of Commissioner of Police tomorrow, marking a significant moment for the Fiji Police Force. The new commissioner will start his first day with a formal quarter guard ceremony at the Fiji Police Force headquarters in Suva, designed to welcome him into his new role. Following this ceremony, a handover will occur between Commissioner Tudravu and the outgoing Acting Commissioner of Police, Juki Fong Chew.

In addition to the ceremonial elements, Tudravu’s schedule will include an important briefing with the Minister for Policing at Government Buildings. This meeting signifies the collaboration and alignment with government authorities as he steps into leadership.

The position of Police Commissioner became available after Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho’s resignation last year, creating an opportunity for new leadership and direction within the force. Commissioner Tudravu’s appointment brings hope for renewed commitment to safety and effective policing in Fiji.

Overall, this transition marks a new chapter for the Fiji Police Force, potentially paving the way for advancements in public safety and community engagement under Tudravu’s leadership.
