Chay Fihaki, a back player for the Crusaders, has been added to the All Blacks squad as a replacement for injured players ahead of the upcoming Bledisloe Cup Test against Australia in Wellington. This change follows the news that Jordie Barrett, the All Blacks’ centre and vice-captain, will miss the match due to a knee injury. The All Blacks have announced that Barrett has sustained damage to the medial collateral ligament (MCL) in his knee.
The 23-year-old Fihaki made his Super Rugby Pacific debut under coach Scott Robertson in 2021 and has since showcased his adaptability by playing on the wing and in the fullback position. In the 2024 Crusaders season, he scored four tries across 14 games. The All Blacks are set to face the Wallabies at 7.05 PM this Saturday at Sky Sports Stadium in Wellington.
