The Ministry of Finance has successfully transitioned to a new payroll system after 40 years of using the previous one. This change resulted in delays in processing civil service pay, originally scheduled for Thursday, January 9th. However, the Ministry confirmed that the pay has been processed, with most civil servants receiving their funds on time. There were minor delays in the transfer timing for some established staff bank accounts.

The Ministry emphasized that the new payroll system is expected to bring improved efficiency, better controls, and enhanced data security. All initial challenges related to the first pay period of the year have been addressed, indicating a smooth transition moving forward.

This update reflects a significant modernization effort by the Ministry of Finance, which aims to streamline operations and serve civil servants more effectively. Such advancements can foster a more reliable and secure payroll process, paving the way for future improvements in government efficiency.
