The Cabinet has approved a Memorandum of Agreement and a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Protection and New Zealand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT), along with the Peace Corps.

The key components of these arrangements include:

– A Grant Funding Agreement with MFAT, which will provide financial assistance of up to NZD 100,000.00. This funding is aimed at supporting the development of a strategic plan for the next five years, covering the period from 2025 to 2030.

– A Memorandum of Understanding with the Peace Corps, focusing on garnering support for projects and initiatives linked to the Community Economic Empowerment Project.

Both agreements will come into effect upon their formal signing.

This collaboration is an encouraging step towards enhancing women’s and children’s welfare in the region, positioning local ministries to leverage international support and resources for their strategic development goals. Such partnerships foster a sense of global community and shared responsibility, offering hope for sustainable progress in social protection initiatives.
