To further improve the services and care provided to underprivileged children in Fiji, the JP Bayly Trust has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Project Heaven. This initiative will offer free eye and ear screenings for children from vulnerable backgrounds who are registered in the JP Bayly Trust Program.

During the 70th anniversary celebration of the JP Bayly Trust in Suva on Wednesday, Sashi Kiran, the Assistant Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection, praised the organization’s efforts in supporting the welfare of the most disadvantaged families in the country. She emphasized that this collaboration exemplifies the power of partnerships in enhancing the well-being of children and families.

“This initiative will provide essential health assessments for children, particularly those facing vulnerabilities, ensuring that they receive the necessary support to aid their development,” Kiran stated. She highlighted the importance of early screenings in identifying and resolving potential health challenges that could impede a child’s growth.

The JP Bayly Trust operates medical and dental clinics manned by registered practitioners, offering free consultations and medication to over 400 registered families at each center. Additionally, the Trust has established education centers in Suva, Lautoka, and Labasa to reach children throughout the nation.

Looking to the future, Kiran expressed hope that the legacy of the JP Bayly Trust continues, ensuring that the next 70 years of service are just as meaningful and impactful.

This partnership marks a significant step forward in ensuring that no child is overlooked. By providing access to essential health services, the initiative aims to foster an environment where all children can thrive, creating a brighter future for the next generation.
