South Sea Towage Limited has welcomed three graduates from the Nadave Technical School as intern employees. Nathan Campbell, Seveci Vakaloloma, and Saimoni Raikuna are the first participants in this initiative launched by the Center for Appropriate Technology and Development (CATD) under the Ministry of I-Taukei Affairs, Culture, Heritage and Arts.
Aporosa Silatolu, Director for CATD Nadave, emphasized the significance of the event, stating that the center aims to create meaningful job opportunities not just for the three individuals, but for the youth of Fiji as a whole. “We are thrilled to have signed on our first three interns today. They represent the beginning of many opportunities to come,” he said.
Saimoni Raikuna, a 21-year-old who graduated from the Nadave Technical School last year, expressed his gratitude for the chance to work with South Seas Towage Limited. “I am very thankful for this opportunity, as I never expected it. This is just the start of my career,” he said, encouraging fellow youths in Fiji to leverage their skills and abilities for their own success. “For my brothers and sisters listening, don’t view your educational background as an obstacle in achieving your dreams,” he added.
The Nadave Technical School is part of the Ministry of I-Taukei Affairs’ broader initiative to provide employment opportunities for young people in Fiji and to address rising unemployment rates.
