Filipe Batiwale has been appointed as the new Commissioner of the Online Safety Commission Fiji, effective immediately. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Communications, Manoa Kamikamica, announced the appointment, highlighting Batiwale’s extensive qualifications as a dedicated lawyer currently holding a practicing certificate in Australia. His specialties include commercial law, cyber law, and digital asset protection.

With over seven years of experience in cyber law and a strong foundation gained from prestigious global and national law firms, Batiwale is expected to make significant contributions to the commission. Kamikamica expressed confidence that Batiwale’s expertise and his commitment to safeguarding digital rights will enhance the mission to foster a safer online environment for all users.
