The Multi-Ethnic Affairs Ministry has officially inaugurated a permanent office in the Northern Division, located at the Macuata House in Labasa. Minister Charan Jeath Singh announced that this new office will function not only as an administrative center but will also employ a community engagement officer, Mr. Bobby Ratish Lal, who will oversee various projects and manage the distribution of grants.

During his visit, Singh reflected on the ministry’s comprehensive outreach efforts over the last two years, highlighting successful initiatives that have engaged diverse communities. He expressed pride in the advancements achieved so far and mentioned the establishment of a clear strategic direction alongside an operational plan. The forthcoming launch of the Ministry’s Strategic Plan for 2025-2027 aims to further promote inclusivity and social cohesion throughout Fiji.

The plan is set to delineate the ministry’s vision and commitment to aiding multi-ethnic communities in their development, reinforcing the government’s dedication to fostering growth and support for minority groups. This echoes previous initiatives focused on ensuring equitable opportunities for all ethnic groups within Fiji, as highlighted during Singh’s engagement with the Indian and Pacific communities.

This new office serves as an embodiment of the government’s unwavering commitment to creating a supportive environment for all minority groups, building upon past efforts that included substantial funding aimed at uplifting these communities. The initiative reflects an ongoing commitment to fostering an inclusive society, ensuring that every ethnic group has the opportunity to thrive.

This development symbolizes not just an administrative achievement but a beacon of hope for a united Fiji, where every citizen’s voice is acknowledged and cherished. By strengthening connections between the government and its diverse communities, the Ministry of Multi-Ethnic Affairs is taking significant steps towards a more inclusive and prosperous future for all Fijians.
