The Sugar Cane Growers Fund (SCGF) has introduced a new loyalty program aimed at rewarding the productive sugar cane growers across the country. This initiative is designed to enhance the value for growers by partnering with key service and product providers, ultimately improving their livelihoods.

SCGF chairperson Ahemad Bhamji emphasized that this program stands out because sugar cane growers do not need to be customers of SCGF to benefit. The initiative attracted interest from various suppliers, including those of farm machinery, contractors, hardware, medical services, and ICT products, among others.

According to Mr. Bhamji, participating partners will offer discounts ranging from 2% to 10% upon presentation of a loyalty card, which could result in significant savings for growers. Additionally, negotiations are ongoing with two petroleum companies to further enrich the program with more benefits.

Interestingly, there will be no membership fee for growers for the first three years. The program is exclusive to registered productive cane growers, who collectively represent a strong market presence with over 10,500 members, allowing them to leverage their collective buying power for better deals.

The loyalty card program, provided in partnership with GEM IT, is slated to be fully operational by December 15th.

This initiative not only aims to support individual growers but also fosters a sense of community among producers, highlighting the collaborative spirit of the sugar cane industry. As the program takes shape, it promises to bring positive changes to the lives of many, contributing to sustainable growth within this vital agricultural sector.

Overall, the SCGF’s loyalty program is a hopeful step towards empowering sugar cane growers, ensuring they receive the support and recognition they deserve. This could lead to a brighter future for both the farmers and the industry as a whole by enhancing competitiveness and sustainability.
